Councillor Vacancy

November 2025

From Mark Norris, Chair.

At our Parish Council meeting last week, Louise Gooding advised us that she would be stepping down as a councillor, so I wanted to extend a huge thank you to Louise for the role she has played for us over the last 6 years – and the formidable contribution she has made. Helen Baker will take over the planning role, however Louise has kindly offered to give her support during the handover process.

This leaves us with a vacancy on the council which is open to anyone in the village of voting age and over.

It is my firm belief that our parish councillors add significant value to the community, acting as a bridge between village residents and higher levels of government, ensuring that local concerns, ideas, and the aspirations of our community are communicated effectively.

With this in mind, we would welcome applicants – and even if it’s just to understand more about exactly what the role entails – please do contact me or talk to one of the other councillors (whose details are listed on our website).  I should add my assurance that if you are considering joining us as a councillor, we will do our utmost to ensure your role is a worthwhile and fulfilling experience.
